EN-03 AT’s Seeking Employment in Public Safety

This course by Nancy Burke, a barrier breaker, and subject matter expert for ATs working in Public Safety, provides a basic review of public safety and how the athletic trainer can integrate into this setting. Nancy provides details to assist in putting together an action plan, detailed background information to assist in developing the plan, as well as how to speak to public safety advocates within an agency. Examples are given of tasks, documents, and real-world experience. The goals are to be able to make a “pitch” for a position that will result in an on-site athletic training hire.
